Julia’s Wings Foundation Helps New Families
July 21, 2014
Recently, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) reached out to the Julia’s Wings Foundation. They have a family with a child battling Aplastic Anemia. Jillian is 14 years old and her mother stopped working to care for her daughter. We are pleased to assist them with lodging and travel as the family resides in NJ.
Boston Children’s Hospital has two families, each with a child battling Aplastic Anemia. Dimitri, a 16 yr old boy and Samantha, a 15 yr old girl. The Foundation was fortunate enough to be able to assist these families by paying their mortgage for 3 months and an electric bill which almost resulted in one family’s power being shut off. More importantly, this financial assistance helps to keep a family member at their child’s bedside which was Julia’s wish!
Our Foundation’s two biggest fundraisers this past year was “Team Julia’s Wings” at the Kent Pumpkin Run and “Evening of HOPE” gala. Together we raised just under $60,000 . This would not be possible if it wasn’t for your support! We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts and let you know that together we are making a difference!
